If You Have Children, You Need Custom Heating Mats

Most customers buy custom heating mats because they love the warmth and convenience of having warm floors. However, if you have children you really do need custom heating mats more than the average customer. The fact is, children spend a great deal of time on the floor, playing, crawling, and sitting on the floor watching television. If you have a traditional heating system, your floors are likely to find be cold. You see, most traditional heating systems work the same way -- by overheating the air. This causes the hot air to rise towards the ceiling, leaving the floor cold and the ceiling warm. Radiant heating is the only system that works in a completely innovative way. Radiant heating works by heating the objects in a room, not the air. This is far more effective, since the objects and surfaces in your room hold heat and transfer it to you. Plus, the system ensures that the area were children are -- they area closest to the floor -- remains comfortable and warm.

Another problem with traditional heating and children has to do with issues of safety. Every year, there are tragic consequences when children stuff in their toys or other objects into radiators, furnaces, or baseboard heaters, causing fires, gas explosions, and other tragedies. Unfortunately, children each year are also burned by radiators, baseboard heaters, and furnaces. Quite simply, traditional heating systems tend to overheat, creating a high temperature that can be dangerous to a curious child. Gas furnaces can explode, especially when children stuff toys into the air vents or furnaces. While parents of course do their best to supervise their children, no parent can supervise a child all the time. Unfortunately, accidents continue to happen. With custom heating mats, on the other hand, these accidents can largely be prevented. Custom heating mats are installed underneath the floors, where they are safe from the curiosity of children. Plus, custom heating mats do not overheat, and therefore pose no burn or fire risk for children.

Finally, many children today suffer from childhood asthma and allergies. Unfortunately, traditional heating systems tend to aggravate these conditions. Forced air systems, especially, have air vents that harbor dust, dirt, grime, allergens, and an other toxins that aggravate asthma as well as other conditions and can actually lead to allergies as well as respiratory ailments. Custom heating mats, on the other hand, are installed underneath the floors and not make use of air vents. This can actually help ensure that air quality in the home stays healthy and safe for your children.
